Definitions of success
First of all, find something to do that you just love-something you do well, or something that you would like to do. Then find someone to love, and third, find something to look forward to. And when you get all those things put together, you will be a success, no question.
Joe Girard, "World's Greatest Salesman"
What success means to me is being the best in the world. When I first got a job sellling cars, I used to watch the number-one guy there like a hawk, the way he walked, the way he moved, the way he dressed, the way he greeted people. And I'd stand near his office and listen to the way he talked to people on the phone..... I put his picture on my desk. He was my motivator. I finally beat this guy because I wanted to......
The whole secret of life is to know what you want, to write it down, and then commit yourself to accomplish it.
Make your dreams come true.
Danielle Kennedy, national speaker and trainer:
Success is a constant process, a journey. It's a balance among six areas: spiritual, mental, physical, financial, family and social. Sometimes it's like walking a tightrope, and it definitely has to be enveloped in internal peace. If you've got peace inside and you've got the outside elements coming together, that's about as close as you're going to get to a Garden of Eden in this world.
Arthur Fry, scientist, inventor:
I know some people who are very highly paid who aren't happy with their lives and don't have a lot of satisfaction with their work. I can't say that is a complete success. There are a lot of elements that go into success; having a balance between your personal life and your business life is important.
Dr Frank Field, CBS-TV meteorologist and health and sciences expert:
You're successful when you go to bed happy with what you've done during the day, and wake up the next morning anxious to get back to what you know is going to be another exciting day. And after thirty-five years, my job is just as invigorating today as it was then, it's fascinating to me to walk in and get into a hot argument with the news director, who is one-third my age. And we really get into it. When I go out and sit with my peers, who are retired, i cant stand it. They're living in a totally different environment. I still work and competet in a world of teenagers and young people. I'm out there doing this everyday and it's exhilarating.
Success is different to everyone. What is yours?
Ready, Set & Take charge of your ATTITUDE!
The remarkable thing is , we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the past.......we cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.........I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...........
WE ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR ATTITUDES!

Enthusiasm: The Great Equalizer
Enthusiasm is the outward manifestation of our inner passion. It is an ardor, a zeal of living that bouys our spirit and gives us energy. It can also push us forward and breakthrough our potentials.
Two steps are necessary to keep enthusiasm going:
Learning- The thirst for knowledge should never be quenched: rather, it should build as you move toward your goals. Children have a natural enthusiam for learning, which can atrophy during years in an uninspiring educational environment. Rekindlling that innate curiosity can remind us that the more we know about something we love, the more enthusiastic we become about knowing more.
Accomplishment- Keeping our goals in sight is like coal to the fire of enthusiasm. Enthusiasm builds with the accomplishment of every task; seeing the results of our efforts builds up a reserve of enthusiasm, which can be applied to the next task in line. Any proof of our accomplishment - something written, something built, an award, a simple thank you - all motivate us to move on.

Common traits of high achievers
- Maintaining Healthy Body and Mind
High achievers believe that the right attitude can often mean the difference between success and failure. They expect things to turn out well and have confidence in their own abilities to make things happen. Good health must also be maintained by proper exercise and nutrition so that they can achieve a healthy body to accomplish their dreams and enjoy their life.
- Always Take Action
If high achievers desire a particular outcome, they will put everything they have into making it happen. They are ever willing to put in the extra mile effort to make it successful. They work hard because they know that nothing worthwhile is ever achieved without effort.
- Learn from failure and disappointment
Problems turn into opportunities with creative mindset, therefore high achievers will not be defeated by rejection or discouraged and depressed like normal people. They will quickly bounce back and redouble their effort and resolve. Who wants to fail? In life, no one wants to fail, but high achievers accept failure as a part of life, and know that there is a lesson to be learned in every setback!
- Surround themselves with positive ideas and role models
High achievers are constantly seeking to improve themselves through continuous learning and growing. They never assume that just because they have reached a certain level of success that they can stop learning. They read constantly, share ideas with others and seek out mentors whose experience can help them achieve their goals and dreams.
- Passionate about what they do
It's possible to become famous and rich doing something you hate. But does that equal success? When asked......"What is the secret of your success?", every person interviewed answered that they had found something they loved to do.
Some people found their passion very early in life; others wandered around from here to there until they discovered their life's work. Once each person discovered his or her passion in life, it became like a magnet, drawing them inevitably closer to success.
- Set goals
High achievers focus on what they want to achieve, establish priorities and know what they have to do in order to keep moving forward. Their plans are flexible enough to allow for the unexpected, but they always have a specific destination in mind.
Goals provide them with purpose and allow them to wake up each morning energized and looking forward to the tasks they know must be accomplished that day.
- Giving back to others
High achievers are grateful for what they have been able to achieve and are happy to help others do the same. They are elevators.... elevating someone else's success and their own. They are competitive but not cutthroat. They have integrity and compassion plus a desire to make a meaningful contribution to their profession, their community and their world. As the saying by William H. Danforth in his inspirational book "I dare you!" ---"CATCH A PASSION FOR HELPING OTHERS AND A RICHER LIFE WILL COME BACK TO YOU"
Question to ponder?
Do you possess these traits? Take action now and dare yourself to "just do it". Make the change and your rewards will be greater than you'll ever imagine.

Polishing the diamond in you
We all start out as unformed, unpolished diamonds. Those who are successful discover the gem within themselves, unleash their own potential, and capitalize on their inner beauty and value. It takes art, skill and concentrated effort for a person to take a diamond, which comes from the remote depths of the earth, to recognize its potential, and to cut and shape it into a precious stone. The same applies to a person to recognize your own potential , which comes from deep within your soul, cut and shape it into its most rewarding and fulfilling form.
Why is it two people of equal talent and ability don’t always achieve equal success? What is the common denominator that puts these people in the category called “successful”?
The strongest link is summed up in one word- ATTITUDE. Attitude is defined as the mental position you take regarding a fact or a state. Supposed you are fired from your job or lost a business deal. What is you mental position toward these facts? Are you devastated? Destroyed? Or determined to learn whatever you can from it and move on?
We are entitled to our emotions. Emotions are neither positive nor negative. It isn’t “bad” to feel fear, anger or depression. Emotions make us human, but they can have a negative influence if we let them deter us from moving forward. It’s your mental position, your attitude toward any incident, that determines whether it will scar you for life or serve as a lesson and a pathway to other opportunities.
The most successful people are able to maintain a positive mental position even when hardship strikes. They allow themselves to experience their emotions, work through them, and then go on with their lives.
“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens as by the way your mind looks at what happens.”- John Homer Miller

Discover the treasure within you
Positive Attitude Comes With Practice
It doesn’t take years of hard work or magical experiences to develop a positive attitude. It takes practice.
Generally, people react to the way you approach them. If you are angry and upset with the world, you will surely find people who are angry and upset with you. On the other hand, if you are warm and open, you will find people will be that way with you.
There was a story about an office worker, every morning when he walked in the office he gave his moody Boss a big smile and a cheerful Good Morning, every morning, his Boss seems to ignored him.
One day, a friend asked the man, “Why do you continue to give Boss such cheerful greetings? He never even bother to reply you”
The man replied, “I am not going to let one individual determine the way I’m going to be all day.”
Here is a man who was being Proactive to his environment, not Reactive.
You too can be proactive and positive with practice.
